Damage, Harm, and Injuries
This section explains how models take damage and the consequences of being wounded in battle.
Harm
Harm represents minor damage, scrapes, and bruises. By default, each model can sustain up to 3 points of harm. Any harm taken beyond this limit causes an Injury instead.
When a model suffers an Injury, any existing harm is not removed.
Injuries
Injuries represent serious wounds and are effectively a model's health.
- Grunt Models: Have 1 health. They are incapacitated as soon as they suffer 1 Injury.
- Champion Models: May have more than 1 health. For example, a champion with 3 health can sustain 2 injuries, but the third one will incapacitate them.
Incapacitated
When a model receives an injury that equals or exceeds its health, it is Incapacitated and immediately removed from the battlefield.
When a model is Incapacitated, all other friendly models within 3" of it must immediately pass a Confusion Test (2I) or become confused.
- Confused: A model that becomes confused must choose one of the following:
- Take 1 fatigue (if it is able to).
- Flee: The model is removed from the battlefield.
Experience Points (XP)
When a Champion model is Incapacitated, its crew earns 1 XP. Each crew can only benefit from this rule once per game. This XP is not earned if the champion flees from the battlefield.
