Damage
This section explains how models take damage and the consequences of being wounded in battle.
Resolving Damage from Attacks
When an attack hits a target, compare the number of successful hits to the target's Endurance stat to determine the damage.
- Hits < Endurance: The target suffers 1 Harm.
- Hits >= Endurance: The target suffers 1 Injury and 1 Harm.
- Hits >= 2 * Endurance: The target is Incapacitated.
Harm
Harm represents minor damage, scrapes, and bruises. By default, each model can sustain up to 3 points of harm. Any harm taken beyond this limit causes an Injury instead.
When a model suffers an Injury, any existing harm is not removed.
Injuries
Injuries represent serious wounds and are effectively a model's health.
- Grunt Models: Have 1 health. They are incapacitated as soon as they suffer 1 Injury.
- Champion Models: May have more than 1 health. For example, a champion with 3 health can sustain 2 injuries, but the third one will incapacitate them.
Incapacitated
When a model receives an injury that equals or exceeds its health, it is Incapacitated and immediately removed from the battlefield.
When a model is Incapacitated, it is removed from the battlefield.
- All models from the incapacitated model's crew within 3" must immediately pass a Confusion Test (2I) or become confused. A confused model must either take 1 fatigue (if able) or Flee (be removed from the battlefield).
- If a Champion is Incapacitated, their crew earns 1 XP. This XP is not earned if the champion flees. Each crew can only gain XP this way once per game.
