Fatigue and Exhaustion
During play, models can gain Fatigue in two main ways:
- A model can Take Fatigue by performing an Action or gaining a bonus.
- A model can Suffer Fatigue. This usually happens as a negative consequence of a game effect or as the result of an Action taken by an Enemy model.
A model’s Fatigue is shown by placing a Fatigue Token (or appropriate stand-in) next to its Base. A model that has 1 Fatigue is Weary, while a model that has 2 Fatigue is Exhausted. The Fatigue Token has two sides, Weary and Exhausted, to represent this.
A model that is Exhausted cannot gain any more Fatigue. This means it cannot Take Fatigue, so cannot perform any Actions or gain any bonuses that would require it to do so. If anything causes an Exhausted model to Suffer Fatigue, the extra Fatigue is ignored.
All Fatigue Tokens are removed at the end of each Round, but some rules allow models to Recover Fatigue before then. A model can Recover Fatigue by changing the face up side of the Fatigue Token next to their base as appropriate. If a model has only Taken 1 Fatigue, the Fatigue Token is removed. If using a stand-in for the Fatigue Token, you only need to demonstrate the amount of Fatigue a model has, so a Weary model would only need 1 Token, whereas an Exhausted model would need 2.
