Zetans: How to Start

They came from the skies! Even prior to the Great War, American pop culture spun yarns of flying saucers and little green men. It turns out those tales contained a grain of science fact: aliens have been visiting and conducting experiments on humanity for their own purposes. Crashed Zetan craft can be found across the Wasteland, but they are particularly active in the wilds of Appalachia. Conspiracy theory no longer! The battle for Earth begins now! [Folio pg. 68]

Playstyle

Zetans are a high-Intelligence, all-ranged faction with a toolkit built around disruption. Tractor Beam lets you drag any non-Leader enemy model 4" out of position, while Invaders from Beyond lets your whole crew Hurry without taking Fatigue and while ignoring enemy Proximity. The Flatwoods Monster's Mind Control adds further control options. Their Training Table copies whoever they last faced, making them adaptable — but they cannot train at all until they've played a non-Zetan opponent.

Captive Story Action: Abduct Captive

A Zetans crew may take the Abduct Captive Captive Story Action. Add this to your Story Sheet if playing a Reach Campaign. [Folio pg. 68, 74]

Choose a Captive model from another player's Crew Roster on your Story Sheet, then roll a die. This Action cannot be made if the Captive was taken in your last game.

Score Result Effect
1 Escape! The Captive breaks free, returning to its original crew. The owner clears the Absent box.
2–4 Came Back Wrong The Captive returns to its original crew but seems a little... off. Your crew can now benefit from one Facility on the Home Turf belonging to the Captive's crew. This stops applying if the Captive model's entry is removed from the Crew Roster. The owner clears the Absent box.
5–7 Why Are You Beeping? The Captive returns to its original crew. Choose a Perk or Upgrade on the Captive model's entry gained during the campaign. You may add that Perk or Upgrade to a model in your crew (following the rules for increasing Rating and Requisite Values as normal). Innate Perks cannot be added this way. The owner clears the Absent box.
8–10 Donated to Science The Captive is removed from its owner's Crew Roster. Choose a non-Absent model in your crew. You may Upgrade this model as described in the Crew Training Story Action. You do not spend XP for this Upgrade.
