Trappers: How to Start
Spotted prowling the Fog for their next hunt, or guarding the walkways of their coastal holdouts, the Trappers are one of the many blights endured by the people of Mount Desert Island. Something has stripped the Trappers of all reason and humanity — be it the mist that blankets the island, the hostile environs of their surroundings, or the same challenges faced by all in the Wasteland, no one can truly say. Known for their hunting skill, the Trappers adorn themselves in armor liberated from deserted fishing villages. Their weaponry is sharp and cruel, as the Trappers favor curved hooks and brutal harpoons, dragging their prey in for the kill. [Folio pg. 82]
All models in a Trappers crew must be chosen from the Trappers Crew List. [Folio pg. 82]

Playstyle
Trappers are an aggressive close-to-mid range faction built around disruption and attrition. Hook, Line, and... punishes enemies who move near Search Tokens, threatening significant damage and rewarding trap-laden setup. The Fog Thickens neuters enemy shooting for an entire Round, letting your crew close distance safely. The Harpoon Gun's Haul (3) critical effect keeps targets in range, and Pole Hook's Seize makes melee engagements sticky. Their Training Table leans into Perception and Agility, reinforcing a fast, hunter-style crew that wins by picking apart opponents one piece at a time.
Captive Story Action: Eat Captive
A Trappers crew may take the Eat Captive Captive Story Action. Add this to your Story Sheet if playing a Reach Campaign. [Folio pg. 82, 88]
Choose a Captive model from another player's Crew Roster on your Story Sheet, then roll a die. This Action cannot be made if the Captive was taken in your last game.
| Score | Result | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Escape! | The Captive escapes into the Fog, returning to their original crew. The owner clears the Absent box. |
| 2–5 | A Little Stringy... | The Captive is removed from its owner's Crew Roster. Each non-Absent model in your crew may remove the Penalty from one Penalized statistic, as per the Recuperate Story Action. |
| 6–10 | A Feast Fit for a King! | The Captive is removed from its owner's Crew Roster. The next time you take the Recruit Story Action, you may roll on the Nourishment Table, Re-Rolling any Skin and Bones results. If your Home Turf already has a Food Store, resolve the Potential result without rolling. |
