Scenarios (Control Campaign)

Quick Reference

• Six Scenarios, each with its own Setup, Special Rules, Scenario Points, and Story Outcomes.
• A crew's first game always uses Skirmish.
• Otherwise the player with the lower Reputation is usually the Attacker and chooses which Scenario to play (Skirmish decides Attacker/Defender by Reputation instead).
• Pick the Scenario that matches what you want: glory and Control (Skirmish), Caps or XP from captured Champions (Kidnap), Caps and Control (Midnight Raid), settling a grudge (Sabotage), lots of Caps (Cattle Drive), or eliminating the enemy for XP (Trapped!).

Choosing a Scenario

A crew's very first game always uses Skirmish. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 51]}

For every other game, players choose a Scenario based on what they hope to gain. Each Scenario below notes when it is a good choice. The player who chooses a Scenario is generally the Attacker, and their opponent is the Defender — Skirmish is the exception, where the crew with the lower Reputation is the Attacker and the crew with the higher Reputation is the Defender. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50] [Battle for Boston pg. 51]}

Scenario Overview

1. Skirmish

Both crews are looking for a straight-up, no-frills battle to gain some glory and Control. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

2. Kidnap

The Attackers are launching an ambush on the Defenders in an attempt to kidnap one or more of their Champions. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

Choose this Scenario if you want to gain Control and also make some Caps or gain some extra Experience Points. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

3. Midnight Raid

The Attackers are moving under cover of darkness to steal essential supplies from the Defender. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

Choose this Scenario if you want Caps, and to increase your Control. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

4. Sabotage

The Attackers are trying to blow up key infrastructure that the Defenders are guarding. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

Choose this Scenario if you hold a grudge, and also want to increase your Control. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

5. Cattle Drive

The Attackers have stolen some valuable livestock and are trying to drive it to a safe place while the Defenders attempt to stop them. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

Choose this Scenario if you want to make a lot of Caps, and extend your Control over an area. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}

6. Trapped!

The Attackers have surrounded the Defenders and are trying to ruthlessly exterminate them before they can escape. ^{[Battle for Boston pg. 50]}
